Jordan Medical Council

¨ Establishment    

Jordan Medical Council was established according to the temporary law no. (12) for the year 1982 which was effective since 16/12/1982.

Law no. (17) for the year 2005.

The Council consists of :-

1- H.E. The Minister of Health   (President)

2- The Deans of the Medicine Faculties and Dentistry Faculties   in the Official Jordanian   Universities (Members)

3- The Director of the Royal Medical Services (Member)

4- The President of the Jordanian Medical Association (Member)

5- The President of the Dentists’ Association.

6- The Chief of The Higher Studies Committee   (Member)

The Objectives of the Council :-

1- Improving the medical services in the Kingdom by raising the scientific and practical levels of the physicians who are working in the different medical branches in corporation with the educational institutions using the appropriate means.

2- Organizing seminars and courses for physicians in corporation with the medical organizations and institutions to cope up with the continuous medical education.

3- Making Specialization Examinations for physicians to grant them the Jordan Medical Council Certificate.

4- Supervising the internship physicians’ training and making the Internship Examination for them.

5- Evaluating the hospitals and putting recognition conditions for the purposes of training.

6- Setting up and cooperating with The Arab Board for Medical Specializations.
