The Committees
of Jordan Medical Council
§The Higher Studies Committee
It is formed according to the law of Jordan Medical Council.
§The Specialized Scientific Committees
Every medical specialization has its own committee
§The Subspeciality Scientific Committees
These are formed with a reference from the Specialized Scientific Committees and which are agreed upon by the Higher Studies Committee and the Council.
§The Consultative Scientific Committees
These are formed by the Council with reference from the Higher Studies Committee for any specialization that does not have adequate number of specialists available for it.

The Higher Studies Committee
The Higher Studies Committee is in charge of the following duties and validities:
1. Nominating the members of both the Specialized Scientific Committees and the Consultative Scientific Committees for Jordan Medical Council and supervising their activities.
2. Viewing the recommendations of both the Specialized Scientific Committees and the Consultative Scientific Committees and raising their decisions to the Council.
3. Cooperating and arranging with the various committees of the Council
4. Taking the appropriate procedures to ensure the required levels of the examinations, seminars and training courses that are held by Jordan Medical Council.
The Specialized Scientific Committees
§The Higher Studies Committee forms a Specialized Scientific Committee for each medical specialization. This committee is connected administratively and technically with the Higher Studies Committee.
Each Specialized Committee consists of seven members with a 4-year membership period.
The Specialized Scientific Committee is in charge of the following duties and validities:-
1. Putting recognized medical training programs.
2. Exchanging experiences with different local, national and international medical institutions.
3. Putting and discussing the questions of the examinations that are held by Jordan Medical Council.
4. Forming the Subspecialty Committees.
The Subspecialty Scientific Committees
§The Subspecialty Scientific Committees are formed by the Specialized Scientific Committees.
Each Subspecialty Scientific Committee consists of at least 3 members with a 2-year membership period.
The Subspecialty Scientific Committees are connected administratively and technically with the related Specialized Scientific Committees.
The Subspecialty Scientific Committees can look only into those duties and validities authorized to them by the Specialized Scientific Committees
1. Putting scientific and practical training programs for the specializations they are responsible for.
2. Putting continuous medical education programs and supervising their application.
3. Putting and discussing questions for the examinations they are responsible for.
The Consultative Scientific Committees
§The Consultative Scientific Committees are formed by Jordan Medical Council according to the recommendations of The Higher Studies Committee.
Each committee consists of at least 3 members with a 4-year membership period.
The Consultative Scientific Committees are connected administratively and technically with The Higher Studies Committee.
The Consultative Scientific Committees are in charge of the following duties and validities:-
1. Putting scientific and practical training programs for the specializations they are responsible for.
2. Putting continuous medical education programs and supervising their application.
3. Putting and discussing questions for the examinations they are responsible for.
The Internship Distribution Committee
§This Committee is formed by Jordan Medical Council for a period of one year and it consists of:-
1. A representative of The Ministry of Health
2. A representative of The Royal Medical Services
3. A representative of each official Jordanian Medicine Faculty
4. A representative of a private hospital (recognized as an educational hospital)
§The duties and validities of this Committee are:-
1.1. Distributing the Internship physicians who registered in Jordan Medical Council at the recognized training institutions relatively and according to vacancies.
The Internship Examination Committee
This Committee is connected with Jordan Medical Council
This Committee is formed for a 1-year period as follows:-
1. The Head of the Committee appointed by the Council
2. A representative of The Ministry of Health appointed by the Ministry
3. A representative of each official Jordanian Medicine Faculty appointed by each faculty.
4. A representative of The Jordanian Medical Association appointed by the Association.
5. A representative of The Royal Medical Services appointed by The Royal Medical Services.
§The duties and validities of this Committee are:-
1. Putting and discussing the Internship Examination questions for each session.
2. . Supervising the examinations.
3. Correcting the examinations and raising the results up to the Higher Studies Committee for confirmation.
